About Coach Smith

Coach Smith is the current Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director at Saint John Notre Dame and the PAL Girls Commissioner, where he brings energy, passion, and leadership to the school’s athletic programs. Coach Smith is a basketball Alumni of Jesuit high school where he won 2 section championships as a player and one as an assistant coach. Coach Smith has also served as the 7th/8th grade girls basketball coach at SJND winning back to back undefeated championships in 2022 & 2023 and the team has made 3 championship appearances in the last 4 years.  With a strong commitment to youth development, Coach Smith takes pride in teaching the fundamentals of the game. His approach emphasizes skill-building, teamwork, and sportsmanship, creating a positive and encouraging environment for young athletes. Whether in the gym or on the court, Coach Smith is dedicated to helping students grow both as players and individuals, inspiring them to reach their full potential through hard work and dedication.
